SITE FOREMAN / LEADING HAND
High-End Residential Construction | Auckland
$55–$60 per hour | Contract
We're looking for a capable Site Foreman / Leading Hand to join a well-established, boutique Auckland residential construction company with a strong reputation for quality workmanship and a healthy pipeline of upcoming projects.
This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys being on the tools, takes pride in their work and can confidently help lead a site without needing to stand back and simply tell everyone else what to do.
The business specialises in high-end residential construction, including quality renovations, alterations, extensions and custom homes. The projects are varied, the standards are high and the team is close-knit, practical and collaborative.
THE ROLE
You'll work closely with the wider team, helping keep projects organised, trades coordinated and work progressing to a high standard.
You'll be someone who can take ownership of the day-to-day running of a site, lead by example and isn't afraid to roll up their sleeves and get stuck into the work when needed.
Your responsibilities will include:
Leading and coordinating day-to-day site activities.
Working hands-on alongside the team when required.
Keeping projects moving and ensuring work is completed to a high standard.
Coordinating subcontractors, suppliers and deliveries.
Reading and working from plans and specifications.
Managing sequencing, site organisation and daily priorities.
Maintaining a tidy, safe and well-organised worksite.
Identifying issues early and working through solutions with the wider team.
Communicating progress and any challenges clearly.
Taking pride in the finished product and the overall client experience.
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
We're not necessarily looking for someone with the fanciest title. We're looking for a good builder and a good person who knows their trade and takes pride in what they do.
You'll ideally have:
Solid residential building experience, ideally within high-end or architectural construction.
Previous experience as a Leading Hand, Foreman or someone ready to step into that responsibility.
Strong practical building and carpentry skills.
The confidence to coordinate trades and keep a site running smoothly.
A collaborative attitude and the ability to work well with a close-knit team.
A reliable, organised and proactive approach.
Good communication skills and a solutions-focused mindset.
A genuine willingness to get on the tools and lead by example.
A strong eye for detail and quality workmanship.
Most importantly, you're someone the team can count on. You turn up, follow through, take responsibility and get the job done properly.
